The 2nd All African Students’ Conference which has a motto “Time to Think” would be building on last year’s conference which was held at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria in Topo, Badagry which motto was ‘Arise Mama Africa’, there we had 570 students from 4 countries in Africa, we were able to carry out a lot of activities and the participants were taken on some guided tours to the “Point of no Return” at the slave heritage site in Badagry and also made to cross over the border to Cotonou in Benin Republic. The programme which had a lot of secondary school students’ participation was 100% student sponsored, yet it recorded a lot of achievements.

I am indeed proud to announce to you that our Ghana branch is set to host this year’s conference and it is to this end that we have made adequate planning for hostel accommodation at the Accra polytechnic, good conditioned buses for convey of students to and from Ghana. However some students would be coming in with their schools’ bus(es) which are also in good condition. We have also made provisions for security of each participant, additional security has also been guaranteed for every participant by their High Commissions and Consulates.

Unfortunately, it would be the responsibility of every participant to feed herself/himself as our funds are very limited, however we are still talking with some governments officials to see how possible students feeding could be met. Nevertheless, there would be provision for snacks and refreshments at most intervals especially during the Beach Party.

This conference is a MUST for all students’ leaders, educators, activist and those groups of young individuals who are interested in thinking deeply and bringing about a lasting change to the plague that has befell Mama Africa with a view to re-awaken, re-orientate and re-vitalize the consciousness of the African Students.
